The hassling associated with some tourist areas is not present here, so to relax and enjoy bargaining for your purchase is a different experience. There are a couple of outlets catering to tourists, but most of the warungs cater to the needs of the islanders. Fresh fruit and vegetables are available from several places; fish can be purchased from wandering vendors. The village is set back from the beach, with a narrow main road running through it; most of the traders are located along the road. There is also a small hospital and an English-speaking doctor. You may hear the unmistakable sound of a gamelan orchestra, either practising or performing as you make your way through the village. The island's leading dive company, World Diving, is just a few minutes walk along the beach from the villa. Most of the local women wear the sarong, and can be seen effortlessly carrying a balanced load on their heads; often whilst also carrying a child and riding a motorbike! The Detail Tourist shuttle service with coach connections with the airport and Kuta has a local style outrigger boat departing daily from Sanur at 10.30 am. Speedboat connections also operate at various times of day from Sanur. Advise your arrival details and we can arrange transport for you and your luggage. NO ATM or credit card facilities, limited money changing available The Activities Any discussion with a local will usually end with them saying “Up to you”. And it is! You can fill your days with activity, or simply catch up on that stack of books. A few steps along the sandy path and you are on the beach looking at Shipwrecks surf break; paddle out to the break or hire a boatman to take you there. Nusa Lembongan offers diving that lures people from all over the world; giant Manta rays, mola mola etc are frequently observed on the dive trips. You may wish to learn to dive or extend your existing qualification; World Diving conducts all levels of tuition, with full PADI status. If scuba diving’s not for you, most people return from snorkelling trips aglow with the wonders they’ve just seen. Trips are usually about two hours in duration, with more than one site visited, depending on water conditions on the day. The island has a sealed (mostly!) road that forms a loop to enable virtually a circuit of the island; you may choose to cycle it, which will take around 50 minutes, with a reasonable level of cycling experience. Walking will enable you to follow the hillside path that links Jungut Batu and several other tiny bays.
